Attire: The contestant’s dress can be ANY style of formal wear, flower girl, Easter dress, communion dress, school dance, tea party, Sunday best, holiday, boutique, prom or pageant dress.
The most important requirement for attire for any of our pageants is that the dress is comfortable to the contestant and compliments her well. The dress should also fit well and be in good condition. You may want to consider a color that compliments the contestant and fits her personality.
No bellies, booties or boobies showing. Parents escorting younger contestants on the stage must also abide by this rule. Judges are instructed to deduct points if this rule is not followed.
Attire for Optional Interview: Sunday Best or Pageant Interview attire.
Make up etc.: We prefer a polished yet natural look with age-appropriate makeup. Please use your own discretion. In this area, less is more. NO full wigs, NO flippers on children (fake teeth). Hair extensions are acceptable if they are natural and well blended. Natural looking spray tans/tanning products are also acceptable.
Arrival Time: Participants in each age division must be dressed and prepared for competition 10 minutes prior to your age division designated start time.
Awards: 8 Division Queens will receive a Custom Sash and Beautiful Crown. There will be 3 Grand Supreme Queens and 3 Ultimate Grand Supremes with the highest overall scores: ages 0-3, 4-7 and 8 and up. Each will receive a Custom Sash and Beautiful Crown! All Queens will be given the opportunity to participate in special events throughout the year! Each age division will also have a 1st Alternate, 2nd Alternate, 3rd Alternate, each alternate will receive a sash. The winners of the “Prettiest Hair”, “Prettiest Eyes”, “Prettiest Smile” and "Most Photogenic" categories will each receive a sash.
Optional Interview: Interview age breakdowns are ages 2-6, 7-12, 13-17 and 18 and up. Interviews will be 2 to 3 minutes long and panel style. Contestants will stand while being interviewed. Interview questions are age appropriate to create conversation. No questions will be asked to stump or frustrate a contestant. Interview winners will receive a trophy.
Optional Talent: Talent Competition age breakdowns are 2-6, 7-12, 13-17 and 18 and up. Talent will be 2 to 3 minutes long and contestants must bring everything they need to perform their talent. A handheld microphone will be provided. Music MUST be in an MP3 format, no other format can be played on our equipment. Or the contestant can bring her own sound equipment.
“Most Photogenic” competition requires you bring one photo with you to the pageant. DO NOT MAIL PHOTOS! Photos can be color or black and white (no frames please). Photographs must be picked up after awards are presented on the day of the pageant. The winner of "Most Photogenic" in each division will receive a sash.
People’s Choice – contestants can have their friends and family vote for them to win the People’s Choice Award. Votes are $1.00 each. The three contestants with the most votes will each be awarded a tiara, sash and scepter.
Admission – $10.00 for Adults and Children Ages 5 And Up. Children ages 5 and under requiring a chair, $5.00. Contestants are always free.
The purpose of this pageant is to grow confidence among young girls and uplift women through positive pageantry. Our goal is to continue the rich tradition of the 15th Annual Miss Geranium Pageant.
