 McDonough, Georgia, isn't just known for its Southern charm and rich history. It's also a hub for seasonal festivals and cultural events. From food fairs to music gatherings, there's a wide range of festivities happening within a 30-mile radius of McDonough from June to October 2023. Let's dive into the vibrant schedule that awaits.

2023 Senoia Memorial Day Celebration 

At Miramac Lake in Senioa, celebrate memorial day with a kids area, food trucks, adult beverages, and fireworks. The event runs from 5-11 p.m.

Atlanta Jazz Festival (May 27-29):

The 46th annual Atlanta Jazz Festival returns to historic Piedmont Park! Memorial Day weekend (free event).

Senoia Memorial Day Celebration (May 27):

The 2023 Memorial Day Celebration will be held at Marimac Lake in Senoia. There will be kids' activities, food and beverage trucks, live music by the Jason Hoard Bluegrass Band, and fireworks!

Vintage Day Festival & Fly-in 2023 (June 3, 2023):

Come to the Peach State Aerodome in Williamson and take a stroll through thevendor fair, grab delicious eats from food truck row and pick up a drink from the outside bar at Barnstormer's Grill as you watch the air show.

2023 Summer Fun Fest (June 4, 2023):

Get ready to have some serious fun in the sun with our wide variety of activities and attractions at the 2023 Summer Fun Fest at Avalon Park located at 1068 Industrial Parkway in McDonough. From our magic show, to free art kits, we have something for everyone. Don't forget to bring your appetite as we'll have a variety of food vendors serving up delicious treats.

The Great Georgia Hot Air Balloon Festival(June 16-17, 2023):

Get the whole family out to Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton for a great family fun time! See incredible Hot Air Balloons for a magical memory. Check off any item on that bucket list with a ride on an actual Hot Air Balloon! The festival will include a Kids Zone, with Games and Rides including trains, bounce houses, rock walls and much more!

McDonough 4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza (July 4, 2023):

Atlanta Kids Fest - The Biggest Festival for Kids in Atlanta

The biggest festival in Atlanta planned with the kids in mind. Enjoy vendors, inflatables, face painting, entertainment, games, food trucks. and more at Avalon Park  from 12 - 4 p.m.

Decatur BBQ, Blues & Bluegrass Festival (August 12, 2023):

Decatur is a short trip west from McDonough and is home to the annual BBQ, Blues & Bluegrass Festival. It's a day filled with delicious barbecued delicacies, craft beer, and live blues and bluegrass music. It's a must-visit for BBQ enthusiasts and music lovers alike.

Doc Holliday Festival (September 9, 2023): 

Celebrate one of Griffin's most notorious residents at Griffin City Park in downtown Griffin, with a BBQ contest and other vendors at this annual city tradition.

Taste of Henry (September 15, 2023)

Where else can you support a local charity AND try culinary delights from upscale gourmet fare to down-home southern cooking? Enjoy one of Henry County’s iconic events, hosted by Southern Belle Farm and featuring over 30 local restaurants and food vendors. The evening will showcase culinary delights that are sure to please. All proceeds benefit A Friend's House, a group home in McDonough for foster children.

Stockbridge Bridgefest (September 30, 2023):

The Stockbridge Amphitheater will host Bridgefest. The family fun day out will have live music, food vendors, and family entertainment.

Georgia State Fair (September 29 - October 8, 2023):

The annual Georgia State Fair at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, just a stone's throw from McDonough, is a ten-day spectacle filled with carnival rides, live music, petting zoos, and enticing food stalls. Hampton Porch Fest (October 14, 2023):

PorchFest is a grassroots community music spectacle where front porches become stages, yards become venues, and brings neighborhoods together to celebrate and create a sense of community.

Hampton PorchFest has music of many, many genres from bluegrass and rock to Christian. There are even porches where you can sing-a-long! Of course, no matter the porch we hope you’ll move or dance to the music. Each porch that you visit will have performers for up to an hour, so plan to roam around town or pick a few of your favorites and hang out on the front lawn.

Griffin Chrysanthemum Festival (October 28, 2023):
