Street Paws one of Henry County’s nonprofit animal rescue organizations is holding a Spayghetti Dinner on March 25. The event is family-friendly and will include dinner, a bake sale, onsite vendors, a silent auction, a raffle, kid’s activities, and music. The dinner is Street Paw’s main fundraiser supporting its work to assist animals in Henry County and Metro Atlanta.
The Spayghetti Dinner is March 25th from 3-8 pm at McDonough Presbyterian Church 427 McGarity Rd. McDonough, GA 30252.
Tickets to the dinner cost $15.00 and children under age 5 eat free. The dinner includes spaghetti (meat or no meat), salad, bread, and a drink.
Since 2013, Street Paws has rescued neglected animals from the streets, maintained feeding areas for feral cats and dogs, provided pet education, found homes for unwanted animals, and reduced the homeless animal population through their spay and neuter program. Proceeds from this event fund all the organization’s veterinary care, food, supplies, and other day-to-day costs.
Additionally, Street Paws hopes to raise $100,000 toward its goal to obtain a facility or buy land for a shelter to assist in the day-to-day care of the animals in its care and help address the overcrowding issue our county animal shelters face. The organization is seeking someone to donate at least 3 acres or more preferably with an existing building. The shelter will serve as a sanctuary for the feral dogs and cats that are rescued so they can live out their lives safely and reduce the number of unwanted dogs/cats being born on the streets. The shelter will also serve as an adoption center for domestic pets.
If you cannot attend the dinner but want to help, you can donate a meal to local police, fire or local veterinary office. Here is a sneak peek at just some of the raffle baskets available at the event:
