How to Help Those in Need Through Local Charities

With consumer checkbooks squeezed by the economy, and the cost of gas and goods on the rise, many people and animals in our community could use some extra assistance this holiday season. Here are some deserving local non profits to consider supporting this season.

Anchor of Hope Foundation is a nonprofit that helps families who have special needs children

Bloom has foster youth in need of Christmas gifts, clothes, and necessities.

Butts County Pregnancy Center  needs diapers, wipes, baby items and monetary donations.

Caring for a Cause needs gift card donations for Christmas dinner for families and filler teen gifts!

Connecting Henry needs volunteers at the Toy Shop on December 8 & 9. 

Henry for Music provides access to music to local children and needs money for instruments.

House of Empowerment is seeking donations of baby items for young moms.






Nicholas & Friends Foundation needs donations to special needs teacher wish/supply lists.

Operation Lunchbox needs 3 bikes with and other gifts for kids and families they buy gifts for every Christmas

Raise Me Up Foundation is in need of basic necessities (toiletries, personal hygiene), food, books, toys, clothing for homeless and foster children, as well as children living in homes with violence, abuse, neglect, and substance abuse.

Riverwood Farm & Rescue LLC. ALWAYS needs feed for the animals!!!!

The River Refuge supports The Malachi Project afterschool program for youth as well as other support to people in need.

Sacred Journey Hospice Foundation Helps patients & families with a variety of needs and needs donations of basic essentials- money to pay utilities, Holiday Meals, Camp Horizon Grief Camp for kids, Scholarships for local kids to attend college in medical field, & so much more.

Southern Crescent Veteran Services Inc has 5 Homeless Veterans in need of a Christmas BLESSING, we also have 268+ youths in low income families needing toy assistance.

Southern Grace Hospice Foundation. Helps patients with basic essentials, groceries need sometimes financial assistance to pay their utilities.

Street Paws needs donations for its rescue animals and people to foster or adopt.
