Local School News
Congratulations to two Henry County students competing in the 2022 Georgia Association of Educator's State Spelling Bee Championship. Ananya Augustine, 14, from Eagle's Landing Middle School and Christian Orleus, 13, from Luella Middle School are among 20 spelling bee competitors in the state.
Businesses on the Move
Several businesses located on Jodeco right near the 2100 block in Stockbridge, including 15th Street Pizza and Oscar Allen Salon, will be moving due to an issue between the landlord and Henry County Water Authority over sewer lines. The leases for these businesses are terminating and the small businesses are now forced to close or move locations.
15th Street Pizza has signed a lease at 1927 Jonesboro Road close to Best Buy and Dicks Sporting Goods. The popular pizza restaurant will remain open until its new location is ready. The owners have confirmed there will be a patio at the new location.
Oscar Allen Salon & Spa is also relocating to an unannounced location near the Union Grove and East Lake area. The forced move comes at a time when the salon was in need of expansion and they are excited about the potential of the new space, according to a Facebook post from the salon.
