Hi! I don't know why but I am really in the holiday spirit this year. Maybe because it is the first Christmas in our new home and I just love all the parades and tree lightings and Santa sightings in our small towns.
This week, I took my kids to drawing club at Queen Bee Coffee in McDonough with Steph Calvert. We had a great time stretching our creative muscles and Steph is excellent with the kids. It is a no pressure type of class. The next one will be on the last Tuesday in January and I encourage you to check it out. On small business Saturday, I went to the Tanger Outlets in Locust Grove. Did you know there are several locally-owned small business there? Lena Jane, Express Your Selfie, Chic & Shabby, and Cake n Shake to name a few. Next time you are there, make sure to stop in and check them out.
There are so many fun holiday events coming up! We are heading to the parade in Jackson on Friday, to the Neighborhood Lot and the McDonough Square to see the Grinch and Santa and to Nash Farm Park for the tree lighting on Saturday, and to the Mistletoe Market on Sunday where I am hoping to find teacher gifts!
Here are This Week's Top Picks for Fun!
Our Holiday Guide has all the information on parades, tree lightings, holiday lights, Santa, gift ideas, and more but here are a few highlights for this weekend.
- Jackson, Griffin and Conyers are all having their parades and holiday events Friday evening
- Locust Grove, Jonesboro and Henry County are all holding there celebrations on Saturday
- You can get some gifts crossed off your list at the Mistletoe Market - McDonough
- All weekend you can enjoy A FARMSTEAD CHRISTMAS - Southern Belle Farms (Nov. 26 - Dec 19, closed Mondays, limited activities weekends 12-9, weekends 10-6)
- Henry County Kiwanis supports several children's organizations each year. With its County Fair getting cancelled due to COVID, the club is hoping to have a lot of support for its Christmas Pancake Supper with Santa and Mrs. C on December $9. Tickets are only $10 per person.
